The 2014 Weed Science Field Day is scheduled for June 26 and will begin at 8:30 a.m..  The location of the Weed Science Field Day will be the Curtiss Farm, which is located on South State Street in Ames.  The day will begin with a brief introduction and overview of the growing season.  A self-guided tour of the research will follow. There will be opportunities to evaluate different herbicides on important weeds in corn and soybean.  New technologies also will be available for review.  Refreshments will be available and no preregistration is required.  The field day offers growers, agchemical dealers and agchemical industry representatives an opportunity to discuss weed management issues and herbicide resistance with Iowa State University Weed Science faculty and staff and with each other.  If you have questions about the field day, please contact Mike Owen at mdowen@iastate.edu or (515) 294-5936.

Micheal Owen is a university professor of agronomy and weed science extension specialist with responsibilities in weed management and herbicide use. He can be reached at (515) 294-5936 or e-mail mdowen@iastate.edu.
