2015 ICM Conference Recap

The 2015 Integrated Crop Management Conference came to an end on Dec. 3, 2015, after two full days of workshops and seminars from Iowa State University faculty and extension specialists, and invited speakers from around the United States.


Continuing education credits were earned, knowledge was extended and absorbed, industry leaders networked, tweets were tweeted, and cookies were consumed. All in all, it was a great two days filled with education and discussion.


Here are some fun facts about the 2015 ICM Conference:


-Participants from 11 states attended the conference (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wisconsin)

- Total attendance was 996 (6th consecutive conference with more than 900 registrations)Alison Robertson, presenting on Goss's wilt

-532 Certified Crop Advisers registered for the ICM Conference.

-7,197 total barcode scans were recorded by volunteers at the doors

-625 lbs. of pork loin were prepared for the Thursday lunch

-77 hours of instruction and education were squeezed into the two-day event, with 14 sessions and 41 workshop topics

-Lunch was served to more than 900 people in less than 20 minutes both days

-By number of attendees, ICM is the largest event held each year in the Scheman Building

-From Nov. 29 – Dec. 7, about 400 original tweets using #ICMConference were tweeted in the days leading up to, during, and after the conference, with about 400 retweets on top of that! Over 800 altogether!
