Farmers and crop advisors are invited to attend the Southeast Iowa Agricultural Research Association annual meeting at the Johnson County Extension office in Iowa City on Thursday, March 7, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The day will feature an update on activities at the Iowa State University (ISU) Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm by Farm Superintendent Myron Rees and presentations on “New Farm Bill Implications” by Ryan Drollette, ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist; “Tighter margins: Farm finances” by Charles Brown, ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist; “Fertilizer priorities and liming strategies when facing low crop price” by Antonio Mallerino, ISU Extension Soil Fertility Specialist; and “Long-term tillage and crop rotation effects on crop yield, economic returns, and soil organic carbon in Iowa” by Mahdi Al-Kasi, ISU Extension soil and water specialist.
The meeting, including lunch, will be provided at no charge and will conclude at 3:00 pm. Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Units will be available.
