
Pasture Management Field Day
Learn more about the basics of pasture management,grazing mangement with surplus forage, establishing new pastures, rennovating existing pastures, and managing fertility to maintain pastures. The pasture walk will also include on-site weed identification and discussion of weed control options in a pastures. The site we will be visiting for the pasture walk is 200 acres of open mixed-species pasture and forested grazing lands that offer many discussion points for pasture management.

- Grazing management strategies: Russ Euken, extension beef specialist
- Fertility and weed management: Angie Rieck-Hinz, extension field agronomist
- USDA programs for pastures: Kelly Oliver, USDA-NRCS district conservationist
Grilled burgers will be provided by the Webster County Cattlemen at 6 p.m. Attendees are asked to register for the program so adequate food can be provided and also to bring their own lawn chairs.
