ISU Extension and Outreach will host a Strip-Till Field Day on July 30, 2025 at the ISU Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm (3115 Louisa-Washington, Rd Crawfordsville, IA), ahead of the National Strip-Till Conference on July 31 and August 1, 2025 in Iowa City. Please note you don't have to attend the conference to attend the field day. These are two separate events. 

Updated Agenda (July 28, 2025) 

Due to the just shy of 3 inches of rain the Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm received over the weekend, it’s unlikely we will be able to do in-field demos at this field day. 

We are still going forward with the event but will keep everything at the building site and still offer the morning and the afternoon sessions. 

Instead of the demos, each strip-till bar company will provide an overview on their strip-till bar, and we do have videos to show in the background with the bars in action. There will be time to for you to take a closer look at each of the strip-till bars and visit with the company representatives as well as check out the other static displays. 

There is a 70% chance of rain and potential for thunderstorms on Wednesday. It is already wet at the farm. You may want a pair of mud boots and rain jacket handy. 

Morning Session: 

• Registration at 8:30 a.m.
• Welcome and strip-till bar presentations start at 9:30 a.m. and conclude by 11:30 a.m.

Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Afternoon Session: 

• Registration at 12:30 p.m.
• Strip-till bar presentations start at 2 p.m. and conclude by 4:00 p.m.

Important Parking Information

Due to the wet conditions at the farm, field day parking will be along the west side of the gravel road (Washington County side). 

When you are on Hwy 218, please turn off on G62 (paved road to the south of the Research Farm), and then turn north onto the Washington-Lousia County Rd. This will bring you in from the south to the farm and help with traffic flow/parking if everyone is coming from the same direction. 

If it is dry enough there may be parking in the grassy area on the northside of the building site at the farm. PLEASE watch and follow signs/directions from those helping with parking. 

We will have a people mover and side-by-sides to help get you to the building site as needed from parking on the road.  

DO NOT park around the building site as we are using that area to display the strip-till bars.

There is no cost to attend the Strip-Till Field Day thanks to the generous support of ISU Extension and Outreach and our sponsors. However, register for the Strip-Till Field Day by July 23, 2025. Space is limited for each session. Additionally your registration helps us plan so we can adequately plan to serve lunch.
