The Crop Diagnostics In-Season Training is designed for farmers, crop scouts, and ag retailers who want more in-depth hands-on training during the growing season. 

Schedule 

  • 8:30 AM – Registration 
  • 9:00 –  Rootworm Reality Check: Hands-on Root Evaluation for Corn Rootworms - Ashley Dean, extension specialist, field crop entomology 
  • 10:30 – Digital Tools to Enhance Disease Scouting - Alison Robertson, professor and extension plant pathologist 
  • 11:30 –  Lunch
  • 12:00 PM –  Above the Canopy: Maximizing Spray Drone Performance - Local drone applicators (additional details coming); and Logan McCrea, Rebecca Vittetoe, and Virgil Schmitt, extension field agronomists 
  • 1:30 - Linking Nutrient Deficiencies to Fertilizer Applications - Richard Roth, assistant professor and extension nitrogen science and soil fertility specialist
  • 3:00 - Wrap-up 

Certified Crop Advisers can earn 4.0 Pest Management, and 1.5 Nutrient Management CCA CEUs. 

Registration 

Cost is $100, and includes lunch, refreshments, course materials. Pre-registration is required to attend. No walk-in registrations accepted. Space is limited to 40 and registration will close either by June 19 at 11:59 PM or when capacity is reached.
